The official opening ceremony was attended by Chair at the Russian Council of Federation Committee for Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova, First Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Issues of Family, Women and Children Tatiana Butskaya, Vice President at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vadim Chubarov, Assistant to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexey Mednikov, President at the Children's Goods Industry Association Antonina Tsitsulina, and Director General at EXPOCENTRE AO Alexey Vyalkin.

Lilia Gumerova said that the Federation Council was working to implement the President's instructions so that the children’s industry would be filled with high-quality, domestic, safe and informative goods. She also thanked the organisers and expressed confidence that manufacturers, parents and children themselves will find a lot of useful and interesting things at the exhibitions.

Tatiana Butskaya, recalling the early 2000s, noted that the exhibition then consisted mainly of foreign goods. Today, however, all the main products for children are made by Russian manufacturers.

Vadim Chubarov drew attention to the figures. Of the 800 companies represented at the exhibition, more than 500 are Russian. Whereas yesterday it was impossible to produce certain goods in our country, today Russian companies can produce them.

Alexey Mednikov said that the exhibition is the place where manufacturers can show and promote their goods. He suggested developing the conference programme to strengthen communication between manufacturers and federal authorities. In this case manufacturers would be informed about what the government is preparing for them in the short term.

Antonina Tsitsulina spoke about the events of the conference programme and stressed that each time the proposals developed at the panels and conferences are included into final documents and sent to the relevant authorities.

Alexey Vyalkin thanked the participants of the opening ceremony and expressed his special gratitude to the representatives of more than 800 exhibiting companies who chose EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds to show their products.
