How to motivate retail shops’ staff
On the last day of the 25th CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2021. Spring Anniversary International Exhibition a Workshop on Incentive Program for Sales Staff in an Effective Fashion Business was held. The workshop was organised by the Online Fashion Advisers School and EXPOCENTRE AO.
Maria Gerasimenko, expert in strategic management of the fashion business, founder of Fashion Advisers and the Online Fashion Advisers School, gave a presentation on key motivational tools for building effective work with staff in retail shops.
"As a rule, the goals of shop owners and the goals of salespeople do not coincide," emphasised Maria Gerasimenko. "This leads to misunderstanding and low sales results". The speaker suggested that the participants consider a new motivation system that would dramatically change the attitude of salespeople towards their work and would noticeably increase sales.
The expert recommended paying considerable attention to non-material motivation of salespeople, using socio-psychological techniques, creativity and free/work time balance. Among the most popular and effective methods, competitions among employees, daily morning motivational meetings and more were suggested.
