EXPO Accelerator interactive marathon continues

18 / 09 / 2025

The events of the EXPO Accelerator interactive marathon continue within the joint conference programme of Mir Detstva 2025 and CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2025. Autumn.

The Centre for the Development of Competences in the Fashion Industry at Plekhanov Russian Economic University, which has more than 20 active fashion training programmes, and Carl Faberge College of Decorative and Applied Arts are holding an interactive educational marathon. Every day, anyone can take part in workshops on digital technologies (CAD, 3D visualization, AI), fashion sketching and collage creation, clothing modeling by pinning fabric on a mannequin, jewelry craft, enameling, and engraving under the guidance of experienced teachers.

For example, masterclasses on the method of tailoring on mannequins teach how to one of the traditional ways to create clothes, when the shape of the future product is formed right on a mannequin using pins. This method was used by French couturiers of the past centuries, as well as the Russian fashion designer of the twentieth century Nadezhda Lamanova. Today, pinning is taught in many specialised colleges along with flat design. Mastery of this method expands the capabilities of a fashion designer and allows them to bring to life their design ideas.

Today’s masterclasses are devoted to Digital Technology in the Fashion Industry: CAD for Time and Resource Saving; Laser Engraving on Key Rings and Enameling; Tailoring: an Individual Approach (the method of pinning fabric to mannequins); Creating a Foamiran Floral Accessory; the Basics of Fashion Illustration: Drawing Like a Fashion Designer, and other topics.

Participation in the marathon is available to everyone who wants to acquire new knowledge, discuss development strategies with industry professionals, share experiences, or receive additional education at a landmark college or university.
