The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation hosted a roundtable discussion on the prospects of production of children's clothes in Russia at the CJF'2012. Spring Exhibition

The roundtable discussion devoted to the prospects of the production of innovative textile and children’s goods was held February, 28 within the CJF'2012. Spring International Exhibition. It was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Expocentre Fairgrounds.

In the course of the roundtable there was a discussion on the process of implementation of a major investment project Development of industrial resource and energy saving technologies of production of innovative textile materials of dual purpose with the complex of protective properties on the basis of wool and chemical fibers, called Textiles, which is developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation in association with leading scientific and research institutes of the light industry.

This event is being held at the exhibition CJF – Child and Junior Fashion for the second time already. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation assists the CJF – Child and Junior Fashion Show and takes maximum advantage of the opportunities of the exhibition for the realization of its project. Speaking as the head of the roundtable Oleg V.Kascheev, the Deputy Director of the Wood and Light Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, stressed that the exhibition was an important tool of promotion of new goods, allowing you to see the results of work. He assessed the production of children’s goods and noted that the products of light industry occupy the leading positions in this sphere. The government has taken a number of measures to support domestic producers of children’s goods as well, and at the present time the share of Russian companies in the market of children's goods is 35%. According to the Strategy of light industry development up to 2020 this index should be increased up to 50%, said the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

The participants of the roundtable discussion exchanged views on the efficiency of measures of state support of domestic manufacturers of children's goods, the requirements to the quality of children's clothes and, first of all, to its ecological compatibility and safety. There were suggestions to improve the communication between developers of fabrics and design of children's clothes and garment enterprises, as well as to develop the children's goods market.

The great attention is given to the analysis of the collections of school uniforms made of new types of fabrics and produced by domestic enterprises. The collections were put on display on the podium of the exhibition CJF – Child and Junior Fashion at Expocentre Fairgrounds. Speaking about the approaches to the creation of school uniform it was mentioned that it should be beautiful, aesthetic and environmentally friendly, comfortable and practical, conducive to a harmonious upbringing and development of the child as any other children’s clothes.

The roundtable was attended by representatives of all spheres of promotion of children's goods on the market: representatives of state authorities, developers, designers, manufacturers, representatives of retail chains and consumers.

Among the participants of the roundtable discussion are the executive director of the fashion House of Valentin Yudashkin M. Zaitsev, the rector of the Moscow State University of Design and Technology Valery S. Belgorodsky, the managers of the Bryansk worsted mill, garment enterprises Krasnaya zarya, Smena, Slavyanka, Rus, the Central Scientific Research Institute for Complex Automation in Light Industry, the Central Scientific Research Institute for Wool, Mir Detstva companies and other active players of the Russian children's clothes market.

The roundtable marked the beginning of a productive discussion that aroused a keen interest. The discussion resulted in recommendations, which will be taken into account by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and realized during the implementation of the major state investment project. The discussion will be continued at the next CJF'2012. Autumn on September 25–28, 2012.
