29th edition of the International Exhibition for Child and Junior Fashion, Maternity Wear

The most important spring event for the children’s fashion – the International Exhibition for Child and Junior Fashion – CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2023. Spring will once again become a meeting point for manufacturers, distributors and representatives of trading companies.

The show is the industry's leading platform for showcasing seasonal trends and innovations in children's fashion, conducting negotiations, and concluding new contracts for the supply of products.

CJF is held twice a year and plays an important role in saturating the Russian market with high-quality and safe products for children.

It provides excellent opportunities for industry professionals to receive up-to-date information on the state of the market, interesting brands, and to become acquainted with the new most promising trends in the production of children's goods in the new times of change.

Conference Programme

This year’s conference programme will cover most of the topics relevant to the professional audience bringing together about 30 major events with leading experts.

A two-day Crash Course on Financial Literacy, a special pilot project that EXPOCENTRE is launching with Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, will be arranged specifically for small and medium-sized businesses for the first time as part of Expo-Academy.

The Crash Course on Financial Literacy for Top Managers is designed for CEOs and business owners as well as senior executives who need real-time financial information to make decisions, monitor performance and review performance.

During the course, leading practitioners from the Higher School of Economics and Business at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics will share their knowledge about successful financial management of a business and talk about cases of how to solve financial problems that may arise at different stages of company operations, including changes in legislation in 2023.

The speakers of the crash course will be Acting Director of the Higher School of Economic and Business at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Lyubov Chaykovskaya and faculty members of the Plekhanov School of Economics and Business at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.

The speakers will analyse mistakes made by managers and discuss ways of correcting the consequences of wrong financial decisions. 

The events will take place on February 22 and 23 from 12.00 to 14.00 at the Presentation Area (Hall 1 of Pavilion No.7). 

The Strategy Session of the Programme Committee of the National Congress of School Uniform Manufacturers on School Uniforms: Challenges, Barriers and New Opportunities will be held in Hermes Conference Hall (Hall 6 of Pavilion No.7) on February 20 from 12.30 to 14.00. The event is organised by the Children's Goods Industry Association with support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and EXPOCENTRE AO.

School uniform manufacturers will discuss the challenges of the new times, which have brought about unprecedented changes and set challenges that require a complete transformation of the industry structure, as well as established relationships and partnerships, and possible ways of neutralising negative processes and benefiting from new opportunities and trends.

An open dialogue with industry representatives – industry leaders, federal and regional companies, representatives of large and small businesses – will allow everyone to be heard and to form a common vision of the industry, its key problems and the support measures that are in demand.   

During the strategy session, the participants will discuss the criteria for the creation of a special register of school uniform manufacturers, the status of the developed preliminary national standard, proposals for labeling, legislative initiatives as well as the expansion of tax incentives and social support measures for consumers for the purchase of school uniforms.

The programme of the National Congress of School Uniform Manufacturers will be formed on the basis of the manufacturers' proposals.

The events of the ROSTEST Academy, organised by ROSTEST AO in partnership with EXPOCENTRE AO, will take place in the Buffer Hall of Pavilion No.7 (Floor 3) on February 20 and 22. Their topics are Electronic Certificates and Single-Click Certification – Implementation of Changed Requirements. Workshop for Manufacturers and Importers of Children's Products and Serial Certificates and Declarations. Tools to Overcome Barriers for Business: How to Get on the Register of Persons Authorised by Manufacturers, and How to Reduce the Cost of Checking Foreign Production.

Practical cases, recommendations from ROSTEST experts, explanations of complex legislative requirements and a dialogue with the audience will enable the participating companies to find the best ways to solve problems and restructure business processes more effectively.

In addition, the stand of the ROSTEST Academy (Pavilion No. 7, Hall 1, Stand 71A10) will offer its visitors and other exhibitors of CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2023. Spring a chance to test their products in a mobile laboratory right at the show floor and receive expert advice from the ROSTEST testing centre.

On February 20, EXPOCENTRE AO in partnership with Plekhanov Russian University of Economics will hold workshops on Growth Points for Online and Offline Sales of Children's Products: Specifics and Advantages of Each and Fashion Hub Showroom Kids: a New Format for Presenting Children’s Products. The events’ speakers will be expert in category management and assortment planning Emina Ponyatova, founder of Fashion Hub Russia, FHub Showroom, President at the International Association of Buyers   Georgy Rostovshchikov, and partner of FHub Kids, owner of the Little Fashion model agency for children and the LF Blog portal about children’s fashion Ivan Isaev.

Director at the Fashion Retail and Fashion Industry Competence Development Center at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Svetlana Kostenko will be a moderator.

The Blogger Day Forum, organised by EXPOCENTRE AO in partnership with the OLYMPX digital agency, will start at 13.50. The forum will be moderated by managing partner, director of the Internet Advertising Department at OLYMPX, consultant for strategic marketing and web marketing special projects, lecturer at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Anna Kilimnichenko.

The participants will discuss trends in online marketing in 2023, the top 5 most frequent mistakes in VKontakte promotion, ideas for editing, and talk about effective lead and sales channels in the children's industry.

On the opening day of CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2023. Spring, Expo-Academy will feature a Workshop on Contracts in the Clothing Business. A Feedback Session by business lawyer Evgeniy Shamkin.

The workshop will cover the topics of drafting simple and safe documents to save time and money. At the end, each participant will receive a checklist for express verification of contract terms.

A special programme for retailers, Business Switchboard, will start on February 21. Its organisers are EXPOCENTRE AO and Imperia Forum. The programme includes Business Navigator – issuing routing sheets for buyers of children's goods; Advisory Centre – advice for retail chains from top experts in trade development; Retail Switchboard – talks between retail chains and exhibitors; and Supplier and Procurement Competence Centre – an open business programme to develop retail companies' competences.

EXPOCENTRE AO in partnership with the Council on Culture of the Youth Parliament under the Russian State Duma and the National Project Fund will hold the Panel Discussion on the Cultural Code of Russia in Children's Fashion. Invited speakers are representatives of the Russian State Duma, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, authors of the I’m on Style project, the National Parents Association, etc.

The event will be moderated by Elena Kalgina, member of the Board of Trustees of the Victory TV Channel (part of Channel One Russia), member of the Council on Culture of the Youth Parliament under the Russian State Duma, member of the Moscow Region Civic Chamber, and co-founder of the I’m on Style project.  

Anton Larin, a co-founder of XWAY and expert in retail and ecommerce, will hold the Forum on Marketplaces are the New Black: How to Launch Sales, Take Products to the Top and Grow Business in the Children's Category in 2023. On 21 February, experts will talk about the market for marketplaces in Russia, new strategies for developing a shop and increasing sales, current e-commerce trends and successful cases in working with marketplaces.

This event, organised by EXPOCENTRE AO and the operating partner of major Russian and foreign marketplaces XWAY, will take place in the Buffet Hall of Pavilion No.7 (Floor 3) from 12.00 to 14.40.

Leading players in the children's goods industry in Russia, representatives of Ozon and AliExpress Russia, as well as experienced practitioners who have been successfully developing their business in the e-commerce segment for many years have been invited to take part.

As part of the conference programme, experts will discuss current industry issues, give practical advice on how to get your shop to the top and multiply sales, share current strategies for working with marketplaces in the new season, and demonstrate successful cases of shop opening and growth.

EXPOCENTRE AO partners with Practical Fashion Solution, Kids Fashion Retail, the online Fashion Advisers School, Wconsulting and VM Guru to organise workshops within the Expo-Academy project.

The speaker at the Workshop on Working with the Store's Customer Base will be Ekaterina Eliseeva, who is a head at the PFSolution school of sales, a patent holder of a training game for retail shops called Learning to Hear a Customer's Need, and an author of the self-teaching book ‘The Salesperson's Desk Book. A Fascinating Way to Improvements’.

Elena Pismenskaya, a founder of Kids Fashion Retail, expert, lecturer at the Creative Industries Center of Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Russian School of Style, the Academy of Fashion and Style, and the Russian Fund of Educational Programmes on Economy and Management, will talk at the workshops on How to Develop the Medium Plus Category of Children's Clothing Brands and on Children's Clothing Assortment Matrix 2023: Key Trends in Buying Behaviour.

Expert in strategic management of the fashion business and founder of Fashion Advisers and the online Fashion Advisers School Maria Gerasimenko will talk about ten effective ways to approach difficult customers.

The Workshop on Effective Sales Techniques in a Retail Store for Children's Clothes and Shoes will be held by expert on increasing sales in the fashion market, author of the Practical Guide to Increasing Sales of Shoes and Accessories and creator of an online school for fashion market managers Evgeniy Danchev.

Anna Balandina, an expert in visual merchandising and store design, founder and magister at the ÀrtEZ Academy (the Netherlands) and founder of the VM Guru agency will talk about visual merchandising for children's shops.

On February 21, the Children’s Catwalk will feature the Review of Trends for Autumn/Winter 2023/2024: the Fashion Industry's Top Trends, Colours, Prints and Shapes and Trend Tour of New Products of Children's Clothing Manufacturer: Trends and Hits of Collections. The events are organised by EXPOCENTRE AO in partnership with the CARLIN Creative Trend Bureau Russia (France).

Anastasia Kotova, a trend expert and representative of the CARLIN Creative Trend Bureau (France) in Russia since 2006, will offer an excellent opportunity to see new collections from leading players and network with colleagues, partners and market experts.

On February22, 13 speakers and market experts will speak at the 25th Russian Trade Forum for Suppliers of Children’s Goods. The event is organised by EXPOCENTRE AO and Imperia Forum KVK. Its participants will discuss TOP-6 trends on the children's goods market for creating top sellers, working tools for promotion on online platforms and marketplaces, a checklist for effective negotiations with buyers of children's goods, and a ready-made strategy for sustainable sales growth in 2023.

The key event of the forum will be supply negotiations with 20+ children's and FMCG chains, marketplaces and online retailers at the Purchasing Centre of Retail Chains™. Its participants will receive feedback on their products from decision-making buyers of retail chains.

On February 22, the Presentation Area will host traditional workshops of the Academy of Fashion Consulting Group Academy. Experts will share the secrets of effective work in the industry.

Natalia Chinenova, a lead expert in retail business technology at Fashion Consulting Group, Natalia Chinenova, will share her experience in organising the sales area of a children's shop as a tool to attract customers and increase sales.

Head of Development at Fashion Consulting Group Maria Shchennikova will talk about fashion trends for children's clothing to boost sales in the Autumn/Winter 2023/24 Season.

The last event of the day will be the Workshop on Specifics of Local Social Media: Trends, Strengths, Promotion, during which Katerina Diveeva, Director of Communications at Fashion Consulting Group and a digital marketing expert, will share current cases of visual trends, social sales and social customer services.

On 23 February, at the Workshop on Upcoming Trends in Children's Fashion, Yulia Karagodina, a professional production designer, fashion analyst and expert in creating commercial clothing collections in the fashion business, will tell us what our children will wear in the near future and how children's fashion has changed.

February 23 will the final day of the trade show. It will feature masterclasses on dealing with objections in the sale of children's shoes, using your team's resources efficiently, and how to double sales by properly implementing fashion marketing in social media. They will be held by Svetlana Dolzhenko, an expert in sales of children’s and teenagers’ shoes and staff training and founder of the Shoes by the Rules retail project, Yana Oreshina, a professional business coach by international ICF standards, and Irina Pishchuk, a fashion marketing expert, writer, head at the Academy of Fashion Marketing (AFM).

The Masterclass by Sergey Lelikov on How to Create a Brand that Opens up New Opportunities for Business Growth will take place on February 23. It will explore the logic of brand-building and offer some case studies, including analysing 'brand gaps', using well-known Russian federal companies as an example.

After the master class, you will integrate your accumulated knowledge of business goals, marketing and brand, understand the relationship between brand and business growth, clarify your role as a business owner in the branding process, and acquire a road map from the first step in developing a brand to a comprehensive understanding of how to build your company's brand.

Sergey Lelikov is a well-known trainer and brand consultant, founder of the BRAND EFFECT Higher Branding Courses and Business Consulting Agency, editor-in-chief of the Brand Management magazine. The RAINBOW Brand Effect© brand design method is the basis of the BRANDEFFECT business school, which trains top management of companies, marketing experts and designers in the express method of brand development.

Another part of Expo-Academy is the CJF – Children's Catwalk. Spring fashion shows in Hall 6 of Pavilion No.7. The shows will run twice a day on February 20–22 at 12.00 and 14.00. The participants will showcase trendy collections from manufacturers of clothing and accessories for children and teenagers.
