CJF – Child and Junior Fashion is the largest trade show of children's clothing, footwear and accessories in Russia and the CIS, which twice a year brings together manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, designers, buyers, representatives of federal and regional authorities, heads of special universities, associations, media representatives, and leading bloggers at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds.

The show demonstrates the main trends and technologies of the coming season, allows everyone interested to form an idea of the latest fashion trends in children's fashion by ordering collections of leading brands right on the show floor of EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds.

Despite the fact that major Western brands have left the Russian market, there are still companies that despite all the difficulties continue to delight their customers with new deliveries.

It is also pleasant to see that in recent years Russian manufacturers of children's footwear have noticeably strengthened their positions in the market, making a significant contribution to the industry and displacing imported models. This autumn, the country's largest footwear companies will present their collections of modern, comfortable and safe footwear for children and teenagers. The number of companies presenting clothing for teenagers at the exhibition has significantly increased.

Conference Programme

The conference programme of CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2023. Autumn will open with the Workshop on Expanding the Assortment From Children's Footwear to Clothing. Analysis of Real Business Cases and the Workshop on a Startup in the Children's Clothing Market, held as part the EXPO Academy. The events are organised by EXPOCENTRE in partnership with Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. They will be moderated by Director at the Fashion Retail and Fashion Industry Competence Development Center at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Svetlana Kostenko. Speakers will discuss issues of business development in the children's clothing market through the development of different sales channels and diversification of the assortment.

On September 26, the Panel Discussion on the Cultural Code of Russia in the Industry of Children's Goods and Clothing will be organised by EXPOCENTRE and the National Project Fund. The event will be moderated by Elena Kalgina, who is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Victory TV Channel (Channel One Russia), a member of the Moscow Region Civic Chamber, and a co-founder of the I’m on Style project. 

The event is held annually to promote patriotic education of the younger generation, development of the creative industry and the children's goods and clothing industry. Representatives of interested legislative and executive authorities, heads of youth public patriotic organisations, associations and unions, well-known cultural figures, representatives of the children's goods and clothing industry are invited to participate in the conference.

The regional stage of the 14th Congress of the Children’s Industry will be organised by the Children’s Goods Industry Association with the support of the Federation Council of Russia, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Education, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Federal Customs Service of Russia, the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), the Center for Research in Perspective Technologies, and EXPOCENTRE. On September 26, there will be the following events: the plenary discussion ‘Dialogue About the Future: From Adaptation to Growth in the Industry for Childhood’, a field meeting of the Working Group of the Federal Customs Service of Russia on improving the administration by customs authorities of the movement of children's goods across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union, a joint event of the Federal Customs Service of Russia and the Children’s Goods Industry Association on the protection of intellectual property rights on children's goods, including those sold online, and a field meeting of the Working Group on Digital Labelling of Games and Toys.

Another important event of September 26 is the 2nd Forum on the Integrated Internet Marketing for the Children's Industry. It is organised by EXPOCENTRE with the support of the OLYMPX digital agency. It is held as part of the EXPO Academy from 11.00 to 16.00. Its speakers and participants will discuss the issues of successful use of Internet marketing in modern business and answer relevant questions about Internet advertising labelling. The discussion will be moderated by Anna Kilimnichenko, a managing partner and director of the Internet Advertising Department at OLYMPX.

Recognised market experts will speak and discuss with conference participants over 20 relevant topics and success ingredients of a children's shop in 2023-2024 at the 6th Russian Conference ‘A Winning Formula for a Store for Children’. The conference is organised by EXPOCENTRE and KVK Imperia Forum.  

The participants in the 6th Russian Business Forum on the Market of Licensed Goods for Children will learn about the top 10 Russian characters who will bring a product to the top of sales in 2024, inside dealings of profitable licence collaborations with rights holders from pre-school to family projects, and a guide to using a license from choosing a character and brand to promoting a product on store shelves. The forum will also include consultations with leading agencies and companies (CTC Media, Melnitsa, 0+media, YARKO, Soyuzmultfilm, etc.) on the effective use of children's favourite characters. The event is organised by EXPOCENTRE and KVK Imperia Forum.

The Forum on Made in Russia: Development of the Children's Goods Industry. Parents’ Choice will be held on September 27 by EXPOCENTRE with the support of the Expert and Educational Centre for Assistance to Prospective and Current Parents “Parents’ Choice”.  It will be moderated by Tatiana Butskaya, Deputy of the Russian State Duma (United Russia), First Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Issues of Family, Women and Children, and Chair at the Board of the Council of Mothers Russian Public Organisation.

The event’s speakers and participants – representatives of federal agencies, deputies of the Russian State Duma, experts, manufacturers, distributors, representatives of offline and online retailers – will discuss issues of creating demand for domestic goods and services for children, supporting investment projects of Russian manufacturers of goods for children, and protecting the market from external unfavourable influences.

The first Forum on Multimedia Digital Technologies in Brand Management, Licensing and Monetisation: Experience of Market Leaders in the Children's Industry will be a really important event in the children's goods and clothing industry. Renowned speakers will discuss the issues of successful use of AI technology in modern business and give examples of effective cases. The event is organised by EXPOCENTRE with the support of Red Carpet Studio as part of the EXPO Academy on September 27 from 13.00 to 17.00.

The forum will be moderated by Natalia Ivanova-Dostoevskaya, Deputy Director at High School of Creative Industries at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, film and animation producer, and Head at the Red Carpet Studio Animation Department.

The participants will discuss the use of AI in business, corporate training on the introduction of chatGPT in business, and the use of neural networks to optimise business processes, in sales and logistics. Animation studios will demonstrate their achievements in this field, as well as introduce the audience to the creators of meta-universes for further cooperation.

The 24th Russian Trade Forum for Children’s Goods Suppliers, organised by EXPOCENTRE and KVK Imperia, will take place in Conference Hall of Pavilion No.8 on September 27 from 11.00 to 17.00. It will include a workshop for retail chain buyers.

The forum’s main topics will be figures, facts and forecasts about the consumption of children's goods and the development of the children's market for 2024, top 10 ways to enter and increase sales on marketplaces and online shops, exchange of experience and tools to create a brand and develop packaging for children's goods with experts and practitioners.

Experts will answer the most urgent questions from representatives of federal and regional retail chains about supplying goods under manufacturers’ and private label brands.           

On September 27–29, EXPOCENTRE and KVK Imperia Forum will arrange the Centre of Retail Chainsòì for the visitors and participants in Mir Detstva and CJF. It will offer unique comfortable conditions for working at the show: a green corridor (with separate registration and cloakroom), a business centre for individual work and business negotiations, a recreation and catering area, and a rich conference programme with speeches by key experts of the children's goods market. 

The Workshop on New Logistics 2023 will be useful for both exhibitors and visitors. It will focus on why one should not stop engaging in foreign trade activities, what to do if the usual logistics routes no longer work, and where to look for new suppliers who have experience of cooperation with Russia.

Practical recommendations on how to enter retail to stay and how not to get lost in the maze of requirements for children's products will be given by experts of ROSTEST Academy at the Practical Session on the Best Solutions for Children's Product Safety Verification: How to Become a Reliable Supplier.

A series of workshops of the Academy of Fashion Consulting Group (Workshops on Online vs Offline Sales of Children's Clothing: Similarities and Differences, on Fashion Trends for Children's Clothing to Boost Sales in the Spring/Summer 2024 Season, and on Promotion of Children's Clothing Brands in Telegram) will be held over one day by such well-known experts as Viktor Malygin, Head of Educational Programmes at Fashion Consulting Group, Maria Shchennikova, Head of Development at Fashion Consulting Group, and Katerina Diveeva, Director of Communications at Fashion Consulting Group, digital marketing expert.

On September 27–28, CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2023. Autumn will host the National Assembly of School Uniform Manufacturers, organised by the Children’s Goods Industry Association with the support of the Federation Council of Russia, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Education, the Moscow City Government, Higher School of Business at Higher School of Economics, Kosygin Moscow State University of Design and Technology, Federal Institute for the Development of Vocational Education and Training, and EXPOCENTRE.  

The assembly participants are leading manufacturers of school uniform. They will present their views and problems of the industry, discuss the government's approaches to regulating the school uniform market, consider and propose solutions to develop the industry.

The assembly will open with the plenary session of the day ‘We work for children: new solutions for continued prioritisation of children's quality of life’. The work will continue with practical sessions of the day on design and technology: the Professionalitet Federal Project – sectoral approach to training under conditions of import substitution, marketing of influence: how new sales channels communicate with consumers, legislative aspects of regulating the school uniform market: sources of growth and tools for solving problems, national brands for childhood: economy vs. culture, event marketing: how festivals and fairs increase consumer loyalty and scale seasonal business, etc.

Sales channels in e-commerce, details and atypical mistakes in content preparation, logistics setup, launch of advertising tools, communication with sellers and calculation of unit economics will be discussed on September 28 at the Forum on Successful Start in E-commerce in 2023: Trends, Opportunities and Effective Tools for Scaling Business in the Children's Goods and Clothing Industry. It will be moderated by recognised expert in retail and e-commerce, CEO of XWAY Anton Larin. The event’s speakers will be representatives of the NAFI Research Center, OZON, Yandex Market, Detsky Mir, inSales, XWAY, and sellers of children’s goods and clothes.

The unique Masterclass – Pump Yourself up with Mentors of the I'm on Style Reality Show. Presentation of the School will take place on September 28. The event will be organised by EXPOCENTRE in partnership with the National Project Fund as part of the EXPO Academy. The masterclass will feature owner of the Depeche mode clothing brand, designer, producer, mentor and co-founder of the I’m on Style project Alyona Depechemode and founder of the first 3D Couture School of 3D garment design and visualisation, lecturer at British Higher School of Art and Design Maria Shevchenko. Speakers will talk about a new project in the Russian mass fashion market, which was created with the aim of developing creative industries and provides ideas, meanings, images and role models in the creation of clothes.

Experts will share the secrets of using innovative technologies in the textile and garment industry, experience of working with meta-universes and avatars when creating unique collections of I’m on Style, and tell how to launch your brand from scratch.

On September 8, EXPOCENTRE  in partnership with Fashion Hub Russia will hold the Panel Discussion on Fashion Hub Russia – the Ecosystem for the Development of Russian Fashion Business at the CJF Presentation Area. The event will be moderated by founder of Fashion Hub Russia, FHub Showroom, President at the International Association of Buyers Georgiy Rostovschikov.

As usual, a lot of attention will be paid to the trends of the coming season. A trend review (15.00–15.30) of the main fashion moods and exclusive trend tour around the exhibitors' stands reviewing new products of children's clothing manufacturer: trends and hits of collections (15.30–16.30) will be held on September 28 by Anastasia Kotova, Head of the Carlin Creative Trend Bureau (France) in Russia, speaker at conference programmes of the leading fashion exhibitions (CPM, TextileSalon, HeimTextile, InterSharm, etc.),  and trend consultant since 2006 for leading Russian manufacturers. EXPOCENTRE and Carlin Creative Trend Bureau invite you to dive into the world of fashion trends and experience them in the reality of the Russian market within a lecture and trend tour.

The regular CJF. Children’s Catwalk 2023. Autumn will offer fashion shows of clothes and accessories collections for children and teenagers for the 2024 season. The event is organised by PROfashion Media Agency.

For the first time EXPOCENTRE in partnership with the National Project Fund will organise the I'm on Style show on September 26. The Mir Detstva and CJF visitors and exhibitors will have a unique opportunity to meet the participants of the I am in Style project, see their collections and possibly take part in the next season, the casting of which will take place right on the show floor. 

The 23rd edition of the Moscow International Festival of Balloons will be organised by EXPOCENTRE in partnership with Europa Uno Trade AO in Hall 4 of Pavilion No.2 on all exhibition dates. The festival will include the Russia Open Professional Balloon Design Championship, an exhibition of balloon and equipment suppliers, the Fun Idea franchisee conference, and different workshops. This year’s theme is the Legends of the World. Winners will be determined in seven nominations of the Open Championship: the Big Balloon Sculpture, the Character – Small Balloon Sculpture (home assignment), the Black Box, the Balloon Costume, the Balloon Fountain for Delivery, the 12 Minutes, and the Strings of Balloons at Speed.

The conference programme will conclude with the award ceremony of the International Competition of Goods for Children and Teenagers of Soyuzexpertiza ANO. It is organised by Soyuzexpertiza ANO of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with EXPOCENTRE.
