International Exhibition Mir Detstva 2014

From September 23 to 26, 2014 Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted the 20th anniversary Mir Detstva 2014 International Exhibition for Goods and Services for Children and Teenagers, New Educational and Personality Development Programmes.

The Mir Detstva exhibition is the leading trade show in Russia and CIS countries among the shows for goods for children and teenagers. The show has run since 1994 and keeps developing. Currently the show is platform number one for launching the newest products on the Russian market.

The exhibition was organized by Expocentre ZAO and supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and Association of Children Goods Industry Enterprises. It ran under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and attracted great attention on the government level.

A lot of contracts for delivery of goods are annually signed at the trade show. The show offers an opportunity to get information on novelties and situation in the industry and enables companies to build up their market share in the nearest future.

This year 530 companies from 32 countries showcased their best products on the exhibition space of 16 300 net sq m. Visitor attendance amounted to 14 573 people. A great variety and large scale are two distinctive features of the exhibition which comprises absolutely everything: from toys to craft supplies.

Participants in the Mir Detstva 2014 exhibition were such well-known companies as Adamex, Barbie, Brevi, Cam Il Mondo Del Bambino, Dorel Juvennille Group, Fisher-Pisher-Price, Gots, Gremmy, Hansa, Lego, Pali, Playmobile, Schleich, Nuby, Per-Perego, Smoby, Intex, Winx plus many others.

New domestic products were shown by such companies as Bauer, Zvezda, Zolotoy Gus, Krasnaya Zvezda, Lubimka, Nordplast, Zavod Ogonek, Russian Style, Stellar, Elf Market, Elti Kudits, and others.

The trade show was organized by the following thematic sections: Goods for Newborns and Infants; Health and Comfort; Education and Development; Toys and Games.

The Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions Project continued its mission to reduce the number of cases when counterfeit products are displayed at exhibitions.

One of the key topics of the Mir Detstva exhibition was state support of the enterprises working in the industry of children goods and services. There was held the industry meeting on Aims and Tools of State Support for Russian Manufacturers Providing Educational Facilities. Experts, professionals and government officials discussed future development trends and issues concerning children goods industry.

Europa uno trade and Expocentre ZAO carried out the 15th International Festival of Balloons. Participants in the festival were 27 teams consisting of 97 competitors from 63 cities of Russia, Belarus, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, and other countries. Seminars were an integral part of the events programme. The best Russian and foreign industry experts shared their best practices and professional secrets.

Business Contacts Exchange and Specialists’ Contacts Exchange (Labour Exchange) were available for participants and visitors to the trade show.

The Mir Detstva 2014 exhibition was accompanied by a rich and diverse events programme. There ran relevant business forums, conferences, seminars, and round tables designed for suppliers and sellers of goods for children and teenagers, as well as prestigious industry competitions, presentations of advanced products, etc.

The main business event of the market of goods for children in 2014 was the 9th Russian Trade Forum for Children Goods Suppliers organized by KVK Imperia. Its general partner was Expocentre ZAO. The forum had more than 250 participants from 50 cities and towns of Russia. Buyers representing 40 retail chains held over 1 200 talks with suppliers. The Forum’s programme included five specialized sessions and reports, and the only one in the industry Retail Chains Purchasing Centre™ of children goods.

The Mir Detstva 2014 programme featured the 10th annual conference on Children Goods Market: Creation of Successful Brand in Turbulent Conditions organized by Synovate Comcon and Expocentre ZAO. The conference was devoted to the current trends on the market of goods for children.

One more significant event was the 11th session on Licensing and Franchising: Brand Strategies and Development of Chain Stores in Children Goods Industry. During the session The Walt Disney Company in Russia and CIS, Brand Extensions Russia JJP Limited, Hasbro Russia & CIS, Aminaccord Animation studio (Masha I Medved project), Aeroplane Productions (the Fixies project), RIO Licensing, De Salitto Fashion House, Rusdel Trade House and other participants of the children industry market presented their successful projects and shared their promotion experience.

The participants in a seminar organized by eLama.ru and Expocentre ZAO shared secrets for increasing sales of children goods via Internet. Representatives of major Internet agencies and service providers, among them TRINET.Group, KupiVIP E-Commerce Service, IYOUSTRIKE!, Intelsib, eLama.ru, Yandex.Market, MoySklad, CubeLine, as well as specialized stores BABADU.ru and babysecret.ru, told about best practices of Internet marketing and new tools for increasing sales via Internet.

The seminar concluded with the award ceremony for the winners in the Competition for the Best Online Store organized by eLama.ru and Expocentre ZAO. The bezaza.ru was named the winner in the Best Online Store for the Buyer nomination.

A visiting meeting of working group on the children goods industry also took place at the Mir Detstva 2014 trade show.

The Association of Children Goods Industry Enterprises and Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade with support of Eurasian Economic Commission and Expocentre ZAO held a workshop on State Support of Children Goods Industry Enterprises.

A lot of visitors were greatly interested in the 8th Russian Forum of Model Makers as well as in the sessions on Effective Running of a Kids Store and Business Development in Fluctuating Market Conditions.

The award ceremony for the winners in the International Competition for Goods for Children and Teenagers was also held during Mir Detstva 2014. Awards were presented to 26 Russian and foreign companies.
