On 27-30 September 2016, Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted the 22nd edition of the Mir Detstva International Exhibition for Goods and Services for Children and Teenagers, New Educational and Personality Development Programs.

The exhibition was organized by Expocentre AO with support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Federal Institute of Education Development, and under auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mir Detstva is a major trade show of goods and services for children and teenagers in Russia and Eastern Europe. It is an effective platform to present new products and network with fellow professionals.

This year, Mir Detstva’s partners have been the Association of Children Goods Industry Enterprises, the Russian Animation Film Association, the Association of Furniture and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia, and the Association of Art Industry Market Participants.

The exhibition was commended for its management and was highly rated by both industry professionals and authorities.

Denis Manturov, the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, noted in this welcome address to participants, visitors and organizers, that “for over 20 years, Mir Detstva had shown us the diverse world of goods for children and a full picture of the most relevant market trends, current demands and development prospects.”

Autumn was attended by Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Elena Dybova, Director of the Department of Development of Socially Important Goods Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kolobov, President of the Russian Union of Entrepreneurs of Textile and Light Industry Andrey Razbrodin, President of the Association of Children Goods Industry Antonina Tsitsulina, Deputy General Director of Expocentre AO Mikhail Tolkachev.

This year, the opening of Mir Detstva and CJF – Child and Junior Fashion, on September 27, coincided with the Day of Preschool Educators in Russia. The Day of Supplementary Education included a series of related events organized by leaders of this field of education.

As usual Mir Detstva welcomed leading market players and well-known brands. The latest achievements and products were shown by 528 companies from 26 countries on over 15,000 sq m. These figures make the exhibition an unquestionable leader on the Russian market of goods for children and teenagers.

Mir Detstva 2016 and CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2016. Autumn were attended by more than 18,000 professional visitors.

The well-known foreign participants included Adamex, BabyBjorn, BALU,  Cam Il Mondo Del Bambino, Concord, Dr. Brown’s, Graco, Hauck, LAVA, Jane, Happy Baby, MAXI-COSI, Hansa, Playmobile, Schleich, Peg-Perego, Smoby, Intex, Winx, etc.

There were 456 Russian exhibitors including such well-known companies as Bauer, Zvezda, Zolotoy Gus, Krasnaya Zvezda, Lyubimka, Nordplast, Russkiy Still, Stellar, Step Puzzle, Masha and the Bear, Selena, Rosman, Azbookvarik, 7-ya, Alt, Vesna, and many others.

Traditionally, the product sectors of goods for newborns and babies, toys and games, supplies for New Year and Christmas celebrations, supplementary education, design and creativity had strong presence. Several large stationery companies participated for the first time: Samson, Relef-centr, Friends Group Company, and Alt.  

The group stand “Made for Childhood”, arranged by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, attracted a lot of attention. Twenty four Russian companies offered their new products and know-how for production of goods for children. Among them there were Magic Book, ANRO Technology, Fanclastic, Crasiis, and others.  

Manufacturers from Russian regions showcased at stands of the Export Assisting Centres of the Kirov, Penza and Kursk regions.

In 2016 the new product sector, Supplementary Education for Children, was devoted to products, new developments and training methods for children. Participants included Learning Games of Voskobovich, Clever-Media-Group, YASAM, Montessori-Piter, Innovative Education, Kidburg, etc.

The group stand of the Russian Animation Film Association presented major Russian animation companies and showed marketing opportunities of using animated images.

This year, the newcomers to Mir Detstva were leaders of the Russian Furniture industry: Katyusha Furniture Concern (DMI Dyatkovo), Edem-Mebel, 8 Marta, Andrey1 and Lider, which manufacture furniture for kindergartens.

The traditional Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibition Project, aimed to minimize counterfeit products showcased at exhibitions, was continued.  

Europa Uno Trade ZAO and Expocentre AO held the 17th edition of the Moscow International Festival of Balloons with the world’s leading manufacturers of balloons, accessories and equipment participating. It is one of the most vivid events of Mir Detstva.   

On September 27, during the Day of Supplementary Education the Russian Ministry of Education and Science jointly with the Institute of Problems of Inclusive Education of the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education held a series of workshops devoted to education for challenged students. 

The Day of Supplementary Education also included various sessions, workshops and round tables from leading companies working in supplementary education and state-run institutions.  

At Mir Detstva 2016 Expocentre launched the Business Assistance: Crediting, Legal Assistance, Economic Assistance, Real Estate, Customs Clearance, Human Resources, Consulting Services.  

One of the largest events of the Russian market of goods for children became the 11th edition of the Russian Trade Forum for Children Goods Suppliers, organized by the Imperia congress and exhibition company and Expocentre AO.

The forum welcomed more than 300 delegates including manufacturers and distributors of goods for children and teenagers, representatives of federal and regional retail chains, industry experts, and representatives of industry associations.

The Purchasing Centre for Retail Chains™ of Children’s Goods helped to hold more than 2,500 meetings between more than 150 suppliers and more than 90 buyers of retail chains from all over Russia. The participants included Detsky Mir, Ulmart, Dochki-Sinochki, Magnit, Sela, Lenta, Bookvoed, and many others. The total number of stores belonging to these chains exceeds 1,600. 

The EXPO-Academy project, held as part of both Mir Detstva 2016 and CJF – Child and Junior Fashion 2016. Autumn, was organized by Expocentre AO, the High School of Branding, and the Association of Branding Companies in Russia.

Expocentre AO and the Russian Federal Research Centre of Nutrition and Biotechnology arranged the 4th Annual Conference on Childhood Nutrition in the Current Environment. This year it was devoted to vitaminology.   

One of the important associated events was the Conference on How to Increase Online Sales of Children Goods.

The conference was wrapped up with an award ceremony of the Best Website Competition:

  • helptomama.ru was named The Best Online Store for Customers,
  • danielonline.ru was named The Best Website for Buyers.

ICM OOO and Expocentre AO organized the 10th Anniversary Russian Forum of Model Makers.

The Russian National Association of Toy Makers held several important events with support of Expocentre AO. 

The award ceremony for the winners in the International Competition for Goods for Children and Teenagers, organized by ANO Soyuzexpertiza of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Expocentre AO, took place during the exhibition.
