Post-release Mir Detstva’2010

Mir Detstva’2010, the 16th International Exhibition for Goods and Services for Children and Teenagers; New Educational and Personality Developing Programmes, ran successfully at the Expocentre Fairgrounds from September 28 through October 1, 2010. The Mir Detstva exhibition is a unique event in Russia, the CIS countries and Baltic States in quality and quantity of exhibitors and professional visitors.  

The Project arranged by Expocentre was held under the patronage of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Moscow City Government. Mir Detstva is approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF). 

This year about 500 companies – domestic and foreign leaders of the industry demonstrated their best products and services for children on the total area of 30 724 sq. meters.   Companies and organizations from 31 countries took part in the Show. This fact testifies a high international status of the exhibition. Mir Detstva’2010 was visited by 18 306 people; 81% of them were specialists. The total attendance exceeded 24 000 visitors.

Such world-renowned companies’ trade marks as Adamex, Alex, Arsana-Chicco, Avent, Barbie, Brevi, Cam Il Mondo Del Bambino, Concord, Deloras, Disney, Dorel Juvenille Group, Fisher-Pisher-Price, Gots, Gremmy, Hansa, Lego, Pali, Playmobile, Schleich, Nuby, Ravensburger, Per-Perego, Neonato, Vitacci, Smoby, Intex, Winx and many others were in the list of the exhibition participants.

The Mir Detstva’2010 demonstrated the whole range of goods and services for children, offered a wide spectrum of prospective educational and developmental   tools for the younger generation. The exposition comprised specialized salons that included Goods for Newborns and Infants; Games, Toys, Hobbies, Education and Development; Everything for Holiday and New Year.

The 11th International Festival of Balloons arranged by Europa Uno Trade Company and Expocentre was traditionally held within the bounds of the Exhibition. The Festival visitors familiarized themselves with the best ideas of the world-famous aerodesigners. Participants of the Festival had a unique opportunity to watch the Russian and European colleagues’ work, to appreciate their technical and organizational ability, to strike up an acquaintance with recognized leaders of the balloon decoration industry.      

The Balloon Dresses Parade became a novelty of this year Festival. The Show ran on October 1, 2010 within the bounds of the Contest for Young Designers. During the defile-show specialists of the industry could see unique models of children dresses made out of balloons. Children at the age of 6 – 8 years acted as models. The best Russian decorators as well as their colleagues from Great Britain, Italy and Ukraine demonstrated their craftsmanship. Winners were rewarded with Grand Prix, diplomas and pecuniary prizes.

For the first time the ‘Digital World’ Game Festival was successfully launched at Mir Detstva’2009. This year it once again attracted computer game amateurs who had participated in the all-round computer competitions and displayed their erudition. 

During the exhibition the 5th Specialized Trade Forum ‘Russian Market of Goods for Children: Strategic Solutions for Suppliers’ was held with great success. The Forum embraced 20 reports, master-classes and a special event ‘Network Purchasing Centre’ organized by Imperia Company.

In 2010 the annual main business meeting of first persons in the Russian children goods industry reached an international level: Russian entrepreneurs and their colleagues from Germany, Spain, Israel, Hong Kong, Greece, Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan discussed together “adult” problems of the industry.     

Over 300 owners and leaders of companies supplying goods for infants, preschool children and teenagers as well as top-managers and directors of procurement departments of federal multicategorical and specialized retail networks from 40 world cities took part in the Forum. 

100 wholesale buyers from federal  and international  retail networks that included Ashan Raduga, Detskiy Mir, Deti, Akademia, Dochki–Synochki, Deti.ru (Novosibirsk), Karapuzik (Voronezh), Mikrokha (Belarus), Pochemuchka (Chelyabinsk), Formula Zdorovya (Kaliningrad), Vester (Kaliningrad) and others participated in the Network Purchasing Centre.  

The next international exhibition Mir Detstva’2011 will be held at the Expocentre Fairgrounds on September 27-30, 2011.
