24-27 September, Expocentre was holding the 19th International Exhibition for Goods and Services for Children and Teenagers, New Educational and Personality Development Programmes – Mir Detstva'2013.
Expocentre holds this socially significant event with the support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Moscow City Government and the Children's Goods Industry Association, and under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. The high international status of the exhibition and its importance for the Russian industry of children’s goods are confirmed with the approved event logos awarded by UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and RUEF – the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.
This year Mir Detstva’2013 is the first in the list of exhibitions for goods and services for children in all nominations according to the Russian national rating.
The net exhibition space of the exposition has increased by almost 15% and made up 17,107 sq m. 617 companies from 32 countries put on display their best goods and services. The exhibition was attended by 17,100 unique visitors. The total number of visits reached 28,900.
Among the companies which were showcasing their products at the show were world known trade marks such as Adamex, Barbie, Bebe, Confort, Brevi, Cam Il Mondo Del Bambino, Fisher-Pisher-Price, Gots, Gremmy, Hansa, Lego, Maxi-Cosi, Pali, Playmobile, Schleich, Neonato, Nuby, Emmaljunga, Inglesina, Per-Perego, Smoby, Intex, Winx, and many others.
Russian products for children were presented by leading domestic companies such as Bauer, Votkinsky Zavod, Trading House, Zvezda, Zolotoy Gus, Krasnaya Zvezda, Lubimka, Nordplast, Mir Detstva, Zavod Ogonek, Step Puzzle, Smoltoys, Russian Style, Stellar, and others.
The exposition presented different feature areas such as Goods for Newborns and Infants; Goods for Pregnant Women and Mothers, Games, Toys, Hobbies Education and Development; Creative Activity and Design, Goods for School; Goods for Outdoor activities and Sports Goods and Everything for Parties, Events and Entertainment.
The Project ‘Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions’, aimed to reduce the number of counterfeit products displayed at the exhibition, resulted from Expocentre’s uncompromising attitude to the issues of copyright protection and struggle against counterfeit goods.
The Meeting on Development of the Children’s Goods Industry in the Russian Federation was held under the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
In his speech he said, “The venue of today’s meeting was not chosen by accident. The Mir Detstva Exhibition brings together all the professionals of the community and we make use of it to have an extended meeting.”
Europe Uno Trade ZAO with the support from Expocentre ZAO held the 14th International Festival of Balloons, a unique fascinating event where outstanding professionals from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan took part. Industry leaders from America, Poland, Italy and Japan held seminars and master-classes.
The exhibitors and visitors could attend the Business Contact Exchange and Employment Centre (Labour Exchange) and Consultation Centre for Customs Documentation and Clearance feature areas.
The programme of the Mir Detstva’2013 exhibition was rich in different events. There were forums, conferences, seminars, plenary and round-table discussions focused on suppliers and sellers of the goods for children and teenagers as well as professional skills competitions, presentations of the world industrial novelties and other events.
The key event of the exhibition’2013 became the 8th All-Russia Trade Forum “Market of Goods for Children in Russia. Strategies of Working with Retail Chains”.
The forum brought together 320 representatives of leading companies from regional and federal markets of goods for children and teenagers – manufacturers, distributors as well as independent experts and industry press.
The key event of the Forum became the Retail Chains Purchasing Centre™, where suppliers and manufacturers held face-to-face negotiations with chains purchasers about supplies. This year 200 suppliers and 81 purchasers from 39 specialized multiple retail chains of the country such as X5 RetailGroup, Dochki-Synochki, Deti, Zdorovy Malysh, Katyusha, Enter, Boobl-Goom, Wildberries and others were involved in this event.
One of the major events of the exhibition became the conference ‘Day of Internet Advertising: Maximum Sales via Internet’. It was devoted to different aspects of Internet commerce. More than 300 people, directors and shop owners, marketing mangers and specialists involved in retail chains promotion, participated in this event.
The contests for the Best Internet Shop for the Buyer and Best Web Site for the Buyer were held in the frames of the conference.
Another noticeable event of the programme became the 7th Session Licensing and Franchising: Ready Solutions for Business.
More than 60 representatives of 50 companies were involved in the Practical Seminar on Technical Regulation of the Customs Union: First Results and Coming Changes.
The Seminar on Improving the System of Customs Tariff Regulation of Goods for Children was devoted to the pressing issues coming up while transporting goods for children across the border of the Customs Union.
The Seminar on Taxation Security for Small and Medium Business. Legitimate Reduction of Risks and Session on Marketing of Goods for Children were held at the exhibition.
A number of accompanying events were dedicated to licensing in Russia. The conference on Licensing in Russia: Best Practices of Market Leaders and Technologies of Tomorrow took place within the frame of the Mir Detstva’2013 exhibition.
The exhibition was concluded with the 9th International Contest of Goods for Children and Teenagers in two nominations: the Best Consumer Properties and Successful Promotion of High-Quality Goods. The winners were awarded.
